Democratic socialism is supposed to ensure equal opportunity to grow religiously, socially, economically, politically & personally to each and every adult citizen of the country. This further demands direct and indirect participation of all the adult citizens of the country in building and operating the structures of governance, administration and production along with a common denominator for (i) defining economic equality/inequality, concepts of employment and development, (ii) designing pricing and resource allocation mechanism and (iii) regulating the policies and programmes related to (a) Monitory Policy (b) Organisational Structure, (c) Fiscal System, (d) Research and Development and (e) Human Resource Development. By Training, Dr. Satbir Singh is a Mechanical Engineering, Dr. V.K. Vijay is an Agricultural Engineer, Dr, Vivek Kumar is an Environmental Engineer and Dr. Jagpal Singh is an Economist. During 1995-98 all the four authors were working all the Centre for Rural Development and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in different capacities. They formulated an informal interdisciplinary team for evolving and implementing the ROAD MAP for the process of development covering all the religious, social economic and political aspects of human behaviour.
