This book presents the basics of pericyclic reactions with its historical development. The nature and analysis of pericyclic reactions provide the desired background in this field. Different reactions in the categories of electrocyclic reactions, cycloaddition reactions, sigmatropic reactions have been discussed in detail. In these chapters, fundamentals of the reactions as well as some selective examples have been explained diagramatically for better understanding of readers. Stereoselectivity and regioselectivity are the main features of the book and special emphasis has been given to these aspects. Chelatropic reactions, groups transfer reactions and ene reactions have also been included along with periselectivity in the pericyclic reactions. A wide variety of questions at the end will increase the utility of this book
