Literacy to the patient may include include a wide range of topics like various etc...dealt in the Medical world, while edicating the medical cultural aspects of different people, understanding their level od education, language, etc.... so that, before proceeding to perform a particular procedure which may sometimes be Taboo in certain cultures, can be avoided or done only after taking the patient or his/her relatives into confidence.
